Generator Technician – Abbotsford
  • Minimum of 5 years experience
  • Maintains and owns their own basic hand tools.
  • Responsible for the safe operation of a company vehicle, and maintaining a safe and clean driving record. Drivers abstract needs to be clean.
  • Maintain the Company Service vehicle both mechanically as well as esthetically.
  • Diagnoses faults and failures or malfunctions using testing equipment to determine extent of repair required.
  • Adjusts equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools.
  • Tests repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Ensures reports are thoroughly completed with NEAT handwriting.
  • ASTT certificate preferred.
  • Journeyman Electrician or Mechanic preferred or relevant proven experience.

Electrical Apprentice – Abbotsford

Electrical Apprentice who is in their 3rd or 4th year and the ideal candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Multi-family residential electrical experience is required.
  • Preference given to agricultural electrical experience.
  • Wood frame experience required.
  • Must have own hand tools and transportation.
  • Excellent English communication skills mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Canadian/BC Electrical Code required.
  • Able to read blue prints.

Anser Technician

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing 24 hours service for generator sets, switchgear and other related products.
Must be self-motivated, diagnose problems, make recommendations and fill out necessary paperwork. Behavior, neatness and ability to get along well with people are of equal importance as mechanical ability.

Duties And Responsiblities
  • Response to after hour service calls around the clock. (Overtime rates apply)
  • Diagnose and perform repairs on all makes of engines and power generators with minimum supervision.
  • Perform periodic maintenance and testing on single and multiple parallel generator sets, with mechanical and electrical.
  • Participate in quoting process, estimate labour hours for repair jobs.
  • Explain to customer the charges that will incur and answer product questions to make sure customers are satisifed.
  • Complete paperwork for internal office to understand.
  • Maintain working area and service vehicles in a neat and organized condition.
  • Own a complete set of hand tools for both mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Maintain a good work ethic, neat appearance and report to shop or job site on a timely basis, work effectively with other members of the generator team.
  • Perform special assignments as requested. Occasional out of town work may occur.
Skills
  • Good organizational skills and ability to co-ordinate and complete jobs independently.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Perform periodic maintenance and testing on single and multiple parallel generator sets, with mechanical and electrical.
  • Able to use a Windows based PC (Laptop will be provided).
  • Explain to customer the charges that will incur and answer product questions to make sure customers are satisifed.
  • Knowledge of A.C. generators (brush and brushless), all types or voltage regulators, automatic transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, remote cooling system, day tanks, fuel systems and proper installation of generator sets.
  • Thorough understanding of AC and DC wiring/systems.
  • Own a complete set of hand tools for both mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Must have experience load testing generator sets at 600V or below.
  • Capable of using PC’s for engine/generator controller/ATS control module interfacing and programming.
  • Strong understanding and experience with mechanical systems including engine repair.
  • Proficient mechanical and electrical skills to perform failure analysis, troubleshooting and repairs of all types of engines, power generators and related equipment.
  • Able to work in adverse working conditions requiring physical dexterity.
Education / Training
  • Possession of a valid Electrical Journeyman certificate with a Class B rating a extreme valuable asset.
  • Valid ASTT certification.
  • Applicants with a mechanical aptitude are considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience on AC electrical systems.
  • Participate in after hour/home/factory training study program when applicable. Travel may be required at times to complete short courses for upgrading and training.
  • Applicants must have a valid class 5 driver’s license.
